Reviews from Students
and Parents

Elaine was able to take me from a person sitting
before a blank canvas to a woman who saw herself as
an artist! I created a beautiful seascape that gives me
such a feeling of pride.
Thank you, Elaine for bringing out such talent in me –
yes, Me!
I still can’t believe it!

“Elaine Allen is the teacher I have been looking to find for years. I have taken several classes over the years but with Elaine I feel a real sense of accomplishment and growth in my art. I would usually throw away the pieces I made in classes. But with Elaine’s classes I have finished works I am proud of. She has a knack for reading her students and really inspiring us to create. I would recommend any class you can take with Elaine Allen. She has impressed me in a variety of mediums. She has even helped me impress myself! Thank you Ms. Allen. Please keep doing what you do.”

For a few years I’ve wanted to try my hand at
painting but didn’t know where to start. Walking
into an art store was intimidating and I had no
idea what to buy. Oil? Acrylic? Watercolor? Then
I decided to do a small workshop with Elaine.
She introduced me to acrylic paint and from that
point I fell in love with painting. She helped me
put a brush to canvas for the first time and was
patient in her instruction. Now I have a new
hobby I love and I owe it all to her!

My kids love their lessons with Elaine. She has brought
out talents in them that I never dreamed they had.
Thank you Elaine!

I did that? Wow, I am not going to be afraid to try
something new ever again. Because if I did that, then
I can do anything.
Hayley, age 9

Our daughters ages 9 and 6 attended Elaine's art camp last summer. They had a wonderful time!  By the end of the week they had many pieces of beautiful artwork. We were very impressed with the art they had created and so were they!   They are already looking forward to camp again this summer.
Thanks,

My girls loved their time with Elaine, and I can't wait 'till we can do it again!

You will never find a better, more kind, patient,
nuturing instructor. She seems to have a rare gift in
that department. I get to see it in action and it's pretty
amazing at how quickly she brings her students along.

Quotes and thoughts

At its most basic level, art is a means to
communicate. It is a tool as real as spoken words.
The ability to communicate effectively is essential
to success in any endeavor. If you have ever had to
sketch out an idea on a paper napkin during lunch
or provide visuals for a presentation, then you
know what I am talking about! I am passionate
about providing my students with confidence in
skilled communication of ideas.

Many of our youths live in a world of constant
distraction – television, video games, computers
and phones can disconnect them from the physical
world.  Art requires that they turn off the noise
and focus. It encourages them to bring their
thoughts and inspirations to light, expressing them
in a tangible way.

Extensive studies have shown that art teaches
children life skills such as developing an informed
perception, articulating a vision, learning to solve
problems and make decisions.
It builds self-confidence and self-discipline,
developing the ability to imagine what might be,
and the ability to accept responsibility to complete
tasks from inception to completion.

Early arts experience teaches intangibles such as
creativity, self-expression, and individualism.
Creative activity is a source of joy and wonder,
while it bids its students to touch, taste, hear and
see the world!
